UN Sustainable development goals
Inclusive Education Africa supports the
Sustainable Development Goals
ENSURE HEALTHY LIVES AND PROMOTE WELLBEING FOR ALL AT ALL AGES
Health is a fundamental human right and a key indicator of sustainable development. Poor health threatens the rights of children to education, limits economic opportunities for men and women and increases poverty within communities around the world.
IE Africa promotes child health and wellbeing by providing therapeutic care to children 'at risk' with SEND* and by up-skilling caregivers through community based parent-training programmes.
ENSURE INCLUSIVE AND EQUITABLE QUALITY EDUCATION AND PROMOTE LIFELONG LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL
IE Africa supports this goal by
- providing opportunities for children with SEND* who are not in school because they have been excluded from their right to quality inclusive education.
- training teachers to gain the skills needed to include children who have been excluded from their classrooms or to deliver inclusive education to children who are not achieving in their classrooms.
- providing training opportunities for parents, care-givers and therapists to support their child’s education.
